From 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss, Day 97
Instead of reaching for food after a bad day, give yourself a musical escape. Immerse yourself in the sound, noticing the way it vibrates and is absorbed into your body.
After five or ten minutes of music, you’ll feel amazingly healed and revived.
Here are my answers to the three questions at the end of the lesson.
1. Create a list of your favorite music to have readily available for times you need it.
ABBA and the music from Mama Mia
A lot of country music. My current favorites are “My Church” by Maren Morris and “It ain’t my fault” by Brothers Osborne.
When I’m alone, I sing along to these songs and instantly feel better.
2. For at least ten minutes today, listen to music and focus on the beat.
During my drive to another town today, I will listen to upbeat happy music, maybe some of my favorite oldies.
3. Record how it affects your energy and your spirit.
Music always has a great effect on me. It boosts my spirits and makes me feel connected to the world.
I also love listening to quiet piano music at bedtime. It helps me shut off my “busy brain.”
