From 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss, Day 76
Help people recognize behaviors that sabotage you and tell them what you need instead.
If these efforts don’t work, ignore their comments or avoid certain people until you feel more confident about your progress.
Here are my answers to the three questions at the end of the lesson.
1. Notice how people are reacting to you and what they are saying. Write about areas where you feel sabotaged.
This is another area where I am very blessed. I don’t really have anyone who intentionally (or unintentionally) sabotages me. The closest time would be when family members push me to eat cake or dessert.
2. Plan a time to talk to them about your needs and write out what you will say.
Fortunately, I can discuss these things easily with my family members. My problem is that sometimes I don’t WANT TO! I will remind myself of the great example set by my diabetic sister who counts carbs regardless of who’s around.
3. Record the responses of the people you talked with.
My family members are always supportive, and I am very blessed. Something I need to do is make sure I don’t push them toward eating desserts when they don’t want to.
