From 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss, Day 70
Once you allow yourself to think about the pain in your life, you will become more willing to feel it.
With time, you’ll experience healing and peace instead of eating to push your feelings away.
Here are my answers to the three questions at the end of the lesson.
1. Identify an issue or event you don’t want to think about that might be causing eating struggles.
Lately, I often struggle with financial concerns related to my work, book sales and coaching. I wish that part of life was easier. I have to catch myself during times when I start reaching for food as a way to cope with life.
2. Plan a time to sit with your thoughts about this issue and allow yourself to feel the emotions that come up.
I’ve done this a lot lately and when I get logical about it, I feel better. I don’t worry that my work isn’t good. It’s just the challenges of running a business.
3. Record your insights as well as your ideas on how to deal with this issue instead of eating.
It helps when I keep some structure in my work days at the same time I take breaks for self care such as exercise and music. I need to work on this more.
