From 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss, Day 67
Recognize areas where you are holding a hot coal, and make a conscious decision to let go of it.
Work on healing your heart, and you’ll probably find that eating to punish someone else will stop as well.
Here are my answers to the three questions at the end of the lesson.
1. Identify a situation or event where you’ve had trouble letting go of your feelings.
These days I don’t have much problem with this. But during the years after losing my pregnancies, I held on to a lot of anger and sadness.
2. Consider the benefits of holding onto your anger, sadness or other emotions.
I didn’t want to let go of my feelings because they justified my overeating.
3. Decide that it’s time to let go of those feelings and heal your heart. Write about this.
I am so grateful for the counselor who helped me work through those hard emotions and allow myself to heal. My life is a lot different because of it.
I encourage readers to “do the work” in any areas where you need more healing.
