From 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss, Day 48
Think about what would happen if you broke your leg.
Now pick out a few of those demands and, using the broken leg approach, decide which activities are critical to keep and which ones you can let go.
Here are my answers to the three questions at the end of the lesson.
1. Identify one area in life that tempts you to eat in response to stress.
I am blessed because I don’t have high levels of stress right now. But sometimes just day-to-day life can feel stressful and those are times when food helps me feel calmer.
2. Describe how you will cope with this this area differently due to your “broken leg.”
I will look at my priorities and decide which things I can let go of or postpone. I can also do things that always help me feel calmer such as playing my piano.
3. Record ways your new plan helped you manage your stress without eating.
I’ve pulled out my piano books and started working on rebuilding my skills with classical music. I’m also organizing my office better so I can feel calmer there. Also taking more tea breaks without food.
