My answers to the 3 questions at the end of the lesson
Each morning, ask yourself, “Is this a day when I care or one when I don’t care?”
Once you label it as a day that you care, live that way all day.
1. Make a sign that says, “I do care.” Post it where you can see it easily or carry it inside your pocket or purse.
I put a sign that says, “I do care” on my refrigerator, my computer and my bathroom mirror.
2. Write down ways you will demonstrate that you care today. Then eat your healthy meals, take your walk and use positive self-talk to prove that you care.
Ways I will “care” today:
Follow eating plan at all meals
Minimize the damage at family gathering, use concept of eat only half of food servings
Take protein bar along to gathering
Exercise this afternoon
Use self-talk such as “I do care and I will keep caring all day!”
3. At the end of the day, notice the difference in your actions. Record this in the space below.
When I focus on caring instead of “hoping for the best” I do much better with all of my efforts.
Reminding myself that I care also helps me do nurturing activities that keep me strong on my plan. (Play my piano today)
