From 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss, Day 15
My answers to the 3 questions at the end of the lesson
Rather than ignoring a slip-up and hoping for the best, tell yourself, “That was unfortunate. It was not what I’d planned. And here’s what I’ve learned…”
Then live in confidence that you’ll be stronger in the future.
1. Think about a recent time when you ate snacks or desserts you hadn’t planned on eating.
Afternoon tea and birthday party for a friend’s elderly mother. They served a traditional tea menu with small sandwiches, scones and sweets.
I ate two of everything, with lots of cream and jam on the scones, then felt stuffed afterward.
I tried to not beat myself up but it was hard not to. I was really disappointed that I’d handled it that way.
2. Answer the three questions: what happened, what was going on, what did I learn?
What happened? I was at someone’s home, sitting next to the host and I wanted to please her and make sure her party for her mother went well.
What was going on? I was tired, stressed plus I didn’t make a plan at all.
What did I learn? I need to ALWAYS make a plan for events like this. Also, slow down and eat slowly rather than just start grabbing food.
3. Record your answers, then lay out a plan for managing this situation better in the future.
I am telling myself, “That was unfortunate. It was not what I wanted to do.”
New mindset- always make a plan, keep my focus and stay dedicated to my program and the outcomes I want.
