What a scary time we live in right now. Even if you are doing fine and staying healthy, fear and panic can almost overwhelm you at times.

Here’s a simple but magical phrase I’ve been using to help me manage fears, not only during this time, but for the past few years.

Stay normal when the world is not

Mike at his “office”

For years, my husband, Mike, has gone to Panera Bread almost every day for coffee and breakfast.

When he was working full time, he usually spent an hour so at Panera before heading to the university in Denver where he was a professor.

Normalize your life to lose weight

My Colorado friend Susan called this weekend.

She sounded awful—tired, grouchy and frustrated! She said, “I have totally gone down the slippery slope with my weight-loss plan. And now I can’t seem to get back on track no matter how hard I try.”

I know what to do, I just don’t do it!

A couple of months ago, I ran into the sliding glass door between my patio and my home.

It was night and dark outside. For some reason, I thought the door was open, but it wasn’t and I slammed into it pretty hard.
