From 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss, Day 20
Let go of the past and remind yourself that now you are in a different place with new tools that will propel you forward.
Listen to your hope voice often and train it to give you words of love and encouragement every single day!
1. Identify things your negative voice tells you. For example, “I never stay on a plan.”
It’s never going to work.
I always give in and eat desserts and sweets.
I’ve had a bad day (week, month) and I’m trying to cope so I’ll go ahead and eat stuff I hadn’t planned on.
2. Reframe those thoughts by writing, “That’s not true… I can overcome that.”
That’s not true. I can overcome those thoughts.
Of course if will work
I don’t have to give in after a bad day.
I know a lot of healthy ways to cope so I will use them instead of reaching for food.
3. Create a powerful statement to use as your hope voice. For example, “Of course I can do this!”
Here are my statements:
I can do this.
I’m totally capable of making this work.
I know how to accomplish my goals and I will push forward on them today.
